The purpose of the research is to identify the most effective and utilized digital platform employed by women in politics in Colombia and in Russia to connect with people and disseminate their political ideas. The objective is to show how platforms like Facebook, Twitter, blogs, and others have transformed the historically established relationships between the target audience and traditional media, and how this new order influences the political and social reality of the country in a positive and negative way. This has been done by analyzing and comparing the use of Twitter and blogs by presidential candidates Ksenya Sobchak from Russia and Claudia Lopez from Colombia for the 2018 presidential elections that will take place in both countries.
